Past events have included a 5K road race, canoe races, archery contest, horseshoe contest, casting contest and dune buggy races. Located in southeastern Oklahoma in the Ouachita Mountains and Kiamichi Mountains, Broken Bow Lake is a beautiful man-made lake that offers visitors a chance to relax and enjoy the great outdoors. Come to this festival and spend a pitch-perfect autumn afternoon listening to some of the country's best folk musicians performing for visitors on the festival's outdoor stage throughout the three-day event. There are also watermelon eating contests. We are the gateway city to Broken Bow Lake, Beavers Bend Resort Park, the Mountain Fork and Glover Rivers, and the Ouachita National Forest.
